Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched an online single-window clearance system to grant approvals for smooth operationalisation of coal mines. Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said that the 19 bidders selected for coal mines will boost confidence in the sector and bring investment. Coal ministry has requested states to expedite clearances, and is in talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing the process early in order to begin production. Pointing to need for infrastructure development for farm logistics in the backdrop of protests against farm laws; the Coal minister said that while the government is already in talks with those having a different opinion; there’s a pressing need for strong infrastructure in all sectors, more so in agriculture.
