Global VC funding totalled $251 million in 26 deals, compared to $87 million in 24 deals in Q4 2013, according to a report by Mercom Capital Group. Solar downstream companies (those that put up and operate solar power projects) attracted most of the VC funding with $182 million raised in 13 deals. Solar mergers & acquisitions (M&A) deal activity surged to 38 transactions this quarter, up from 25 transactions the previous quarter.
