Pharma exports from Gujarat rise 11% in FY19

In line with India’s strong performance in exports of pharmaceutical products, Gujarat has ended the fiscal 2018-19 with double digit growth in pharma exports. Gujarat, which accounts for 28% of the national exports, has witnessed a growth of nearly 11% in drugs exports in FY19. After registering an export growth of meagre 2.9% in 2017-18, Indian pharma industry has bounced back with an estimated export standing at US$ 19.15 billion in 2018-19. Gujarat’s pharma exports stood US$ 5.36 billion (Rs.37,321 crore) in 2018-19 as against US$ 4.83 billion (Rs.33,631 crore) in fiscal 2017-18.
